The Indianapolis Colts have been struggling against the Chicago Bears in their Week 1 season-opener Sunday. They have received even worse news as it appears outside linebacker Dwight Freeney has suffered an ankle sprain early in the game.
The veteran pass-rusher left the game late in the first quarter and his return has since been announced questionable. It’s likely that he may not even return to the game at all.
The seven-time Pro Bowler was looking to see how he does in his debut as a 3-4 hybrid linebacker. He leads the Colts franchise all-time in sacks with 102.5. Freeney has said that this could be his last season with Indianapolis this year.
Let’s hope he makes the most of it and can make a quick recovery.
