Detroit Lions Welcome Back RB Mikel Leshoure
The Lions will try to get back to their winning ways this weekend at the Tennessee Titans after dropping this past Sunday night’s game to the San Francisco 49ers. Detroit could position themselves for a good start to the season going into their week five bye.
The team heads home to Ford Field to face against the Minnesota Vikings, so a win against the Titans will put the Lions in a good position going into that winnable home game next week.
RB Kevin Smith has been solid holding down the fort so to speak until Leshoure returned, but he certainly needs some help in that backfield. Smith is not going to be the feature back for a championship team, but he could be a nice complimentary piece of the puzzle.
Detroit tried to use RB Joique Bell as Smith’s back up, but he did not do as good of a job as the team had hoped for. With Leshoure back the Lions can fully utilize a two back system, which could help QB Matthew Stafford and the rest of the offense become more balanced.
