Chargers sign Clark to practice squad

The San Diego Chargers are making moves all over to prepare for the season and to stop the bleeding from having key injuries in the starting lineup. Today, the organization announced that they have signed wide receiver Marques Clark to the teams practice squad to replace fellow wide receiver Chris Owusu.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Clark is a 28-year old rookie who most recently spent training camp with the New Orleans Saints.

Clark played collegiality at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, where he caught 91 passes for 1,456 yards and 11 touchdowns. Since graduating, Clark has spent the last six years out of professional football, and most recently was the wide receivers coach for Westview High School here in his hometown of San Diego.

Clark will wear No. 13 for the Chargers.

In other news, Ryan Matthews as well as Antonio Gates are practicing fully with the team today and should be ready for the Chargers to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
