Sitting on a 2-1 record, the Seattle Seahawks have reached the top 10 in the ESPN Powering Rankings at number 10 after the controversial win over the Green Bay Packers.

Some may say that the Seahawks do not deserve the top 10 spot but the fact is the Monday night game ended in a win whether the call was correct or not.

Seattle jumped up seven spots from last week after another impressive win adding to the win over the Dallas Cowboys in week two totaling 14 jumps up in these last two weeks.

The Seahawks deserve this spot on the power rankings because of the impressive performance of the defense against the Packers.

The defense totaled eight sacks on the night and kept Green Bay from rushing for over 100-yards. The Packers, who are used to getting into the end zone, only scored one touchdown and quarterback Aaron Rodgers was left without a passing touchdown.

Seattle now has two wins over teams that are considered to be better in Dallas and Green Bay and are on their way to becoming a strong team in the NFC.

Next week the Seahawks will be going on the road to face a division rival in the St. Luis Rams and should expect to come away with another win keeping them in the top 10.

Seattle is becoming a surprise team with a 2-1 record heading into what should be an easier week which will put them in a great position further down the road when the post season approaches.
