Denver Broncos Face Tough Division Foe Oakland Raiders, RB Darren McFadden

The Denver Broncos are facing an always tough divisional team in the Oakland Raiders this week and they are desperately needing a win so they don’t fall to 1-3 on the season. This task will not be easy considering the Raiders have arguably the best RB in the NFL in Darren McFadden.

Denver has fared pretty well in rush defense so far this season; only Houston Texans RB Arian Foster has rushed for over 100 yards against the Broncos. Denver’s defense held Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner to 42 yards and the Falcons only managed a 2.4-yards-per-carry average as a team. The Broncos also held Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer to 43 yards and the Steelers only averaged 2.9 yards per carry.

Although the Broncos played decent against Foster and the Texans, they could be in store for their toughest test in McFadden. I’m not saying that McFadden has produced more than Foster over the last couple of years because maybe no one has, but McFadden could possibly be more talented and could produce more if the offense gets to firing on all cylinders.

McFadden has had great success whenever he’s faced the Broncos, and Sunday’s matchup shouldn’t be any different. Since 2010, McFadden has ran for 434 yards and three touchdowns against Denver.

Let’s hope the Raiders’ running game doesn’t start clicking this week. This could definitely be the difference in the outcome of the game.
