Bruce Irvin Shows Why He’s a First Round Pick for the Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks - Bruce Irvin

After receiving some scrutiny for picking defensive end Bruce Irvin in the first round, the Seattle Seahawks are finally seeing some production from their first pick.

Irvin recorded two sacks in the Monday night game against the Green Bay Packers to bring his sack total to two and half in three games.

Throughout the game Irvin should his true strength in the speed he has coming off the line. As an undersized defensive lineman, his speed will be his most important asset and having it show against a solid offensive line in Green Bay proves Seattle may have made a good decision in choosing Irvin in the first round.

If Irvin can continue to come into the game and provide pressure on the quarterback with his speed, the Seahawks defense will be a strong challenge for anyone that tries to pass the ball.

The rookie defensive end could have another big game on the road as the Seahawks prepare to come up against the division rival St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

The Rams have a shaky offensive line which could benefit the defense of Seattle if they come with as much intensity as they did on Monday night at CenturyLink Field.

Irvin has the opportunity to continue to prove others wrong and show that he deserved the high first round pick the Seahawks game him as he looks to take down Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.

This will be an important game for Seattle as they are already 0-1 in the division and falling to the Rams will put them in a very difficult situation. Look for the entire defensive line along with Irvin to perform in St. Louis.
