Season on the Brink of Failure for Detroit Lions

Mike Carter-US PRESSWIRE

The Detroit Lions head into their week five bye week a disappointing 1-3. If there was a boiling point for a team it would be now for the Lions.

Detroit opens their post bye week schedule with two road games against legit NFC the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears. It looks as though Detroit picked the wrong time to be 1-3 as if there ever was a good time.

It will not be easy for the team to fix their issues in all three phases of the game in time to salvage at least a win in one of those two games. The deck is stacked against Detroit like a Vegas poker dealer dealing them a bad hand.

The Lions will need to come up big with the odds and percentages of winning not in their favor. They may need to pull it out with a great “River” card so to speak. The Eagles and Bears are formidable opponents who have both been mentioned in the NFL playoff and Super Bowl conversation by many in the media.

This was supposed to be a great year for Lions fans to embrace their team, especially coming off of last season’s success. Thus far, the Lions have underwhelmed and Lions fans hope that this is not a return to the Matt Millen days.
