Went 3-1 on my picks last week and ironically the only game I lost was the one home game that I picked. Some great games this week and I still haven’t recorded a losing record on my picks. Check them out this week and tell me what you think.
Dolphins @ Bengals (-4.5): The Miami Dolphins have surprised a lot of people this year, as many predicted they would be at the bottom of the barrel. Their record is still only 1-3 but they have shown some potential as Ryan Tannehill has been improving through four games.
This game may turn out to be a shoot-out with the Cincinnati Bengals ranking 19th overall in defense and the Dolphins having a top ranked run defense going up against a team that doesn’t focus on the run very much.
If the Dolphins can find a way to maintain A.J. Green they have a good shot to keep it close but I think the Bengals are a stronger team and will win by at least a touchdown. I’m taking the Bengals to cover.
Ravens @ KC +4.5: The Kansas City Chiefs are not good. I have won some games choosing the opposing team facing the Chiefs, so why fix something that isn’t broken. I still think that the Baltimore Ravens are a potential Super Bowl team and the Chiefs are a potential top 5 pick in the draft.
The Chiefs are only averaging 22 points a game, which seems a bit skewed because of their win against the New Orleans Saints and garbage time points against the Atlanta Falcons, and they are allowing an average of 34 points a game.
In order to beat the Ravens, you need to be able to score points and I just don’t think the Chiefs will be able to produce much against a strong Ravens defense. I’m going with the Ravens giving up 4.5.
Buffalo @ San Fran -9.5: I don’t usually do this but you can call this a pick from the heart if you want. I’m not saying the Buffalo Bills will pull off a miraculous surprise win, but I don’t think they will get completely destroyed the way they do against their own division.
The Bills defense has something to prove after they were thrashed by the New England Patriots, allowing two 100 yard rushers and two 100 yard receivers. I think Buffalo will need to pull off a moral victory this week and at least keep this game close to quiet fans and analysts so I am picking Buffalo with the big points this week.
Broncos @ New England -6.5: A battle of Peyton Manning versus Tom Brady. These are the games we highlight on the schedules every year. That being said, Peyton isn’t playing for the Indianapolis Colts anymore. He is playing for the Denver Broncos and it is no surprise that he is struggling this year.
While the Patriots have struggled a bit themselves, it seems like they found their stride again and are coming off an emotional win against the Bills.
Still, I think this is going to be close game and a game that the Patriots are not used to. The Colts never had a strong defense and relied solely on Manning to win them games.
I think the Patriots are going to pull of the win but, going up against a top ten defense in points allowed, it will be a four point game. I am picking Broncos to win with the points.
