Indianapolis Colts: Fan Base Should be Ashamed in Yesterday’s Effort

The Indianapolis Colts fan base showed us what we’ve been saying for many years now. Colts fan and the city of Indianapolis have the biggest bandwagon fans in the entire U.S. if not the world. Colts fans should be ashamed in themselves with what they pulled on this team. Way too many Green Bay Packer fans were in attendance at Lucas Oil Stadium while Colts fans were outnumbered in some sections.

That’s ridiculous when they needed to defend their own turf.

All week the Colts coaching staff and players were pleading to fans not to sell your tickets to Packers fans and buy the tickets that were out there. Not only did majority of Colts fans not buy the left over tickets, but the season ticket holders gave their tickets away to Packers fans. Not sold, gave them away. How ridiculous can you get?

I’m calling out the fans now. This was a big game where our team is fighting for a huge win, playoff hopes, and wanting to give a game ball to their ailing coach fighting for his life right down the road from the stadium. Hundreds of thousands of so called fans pleaded last year they were fans since 1984 (year Colts moved to Indy) and would always follow this team. Well out of you “so called” fans where were you at yesterday?

I talked to a guy in the bathroom that traveled all the way from Kansas City, Missouri to see the Packers play in our hometown. He said it was an eight hour drive but worth it to see his team play. We also talked to fans from Wisconsin that made the eight hour journey south to see their team play. That’s embarrassing for our fan base that we’re allowing these fans in and we have over a 100,000 people that claim to be Colts fans living in this very city that wouldn’t travel 15 minutes to see them play.

The truth of the matter is we got showed up Colts fans. Do you think it’s right for a season ticket holder to give up their tickets to allow someone to travel 7+ hours away to see their team thinking we’re going to lose and have no faith? I told you fans last week you would be a key to this win. Show up and cheer loud because they need us and we will win if we did exactly what I predicted. Did anyone listen?

This Colts team isn’t as bad as these “so called” experts predict. I said 7-9 wins earlier in the year with an outside shot at making the playoffs. I predicted to a T what would happen Sunday and that they would win. This team needs our support and you failed to give it to them Sunday.

I understand the excuses to why Colts fans didn’t show up. But, Green Bay’s fan base did. They showed us what you really are. So to those who gave up their tickets, didn’t buy tickets, or chose to do something better than support this team don’t come back. Don’t act like you’re a fan now. It’s too late. When cheers of “Go Pack Go” echoed through Lucas Oil Stadium while our team was on the field with crowd noise it’s too late.

Enjoy the bandwagon people acting like you’re a true fan. We know who you are.
