Wow that was one heck of a game between the Buffalo Bills and the Arizona Cardinals. That was easily the game of the week for week six. The Player Of The Week with two extremely clutch interceptions in the fourth quarter and in overtime was free safety Jairus Byrd.
Jairus Byrd is in his forth and contract year, he has been a stellar free safety since he was drafted in the second round out of the University of Oregon where he played cornerback and the transition has been seamless to say the least.
He has been a ball hawk to say the least with sixteen interceptions while returning two for touchdowns and has forced eight fumbles and recovered . He has also been a fairly decent tackler since he racked up 182 tackles and two sacks.
Jairus has an amazing pro football pedigree with his father, Gil Byrd Sr. also playing defensive back in the NFL for the San Diego Chargers. So it seems that football came natural to him, I wonder if he had a ball in his crib growing up or his dad made him chase after a ball as an infant and child growing up.
