New England Patriots Increase Salary Of Practice Squad WR Greg Salas
Salas is now making a single dollar above the league minimum for a second-year player on an active roster at a salary of $465,001.
The former St. Louis Rams 2011 4th round draft pick out of Hawaii signed a four-year rookie contract with the Rams in 2011 that included a $451,000 signing bonus. He recorded 27 receptions for 264 yards as a rookie before suffering a season ending injury which landed him on injured reserve.
Salas was acquired by the Patriots this off-season for a late 2015 draft pick, however was released following the week 2 Aaron Hernandez injury after the Patriots brought back veteran WR Deion Branch. He was signed to the Patriots practice squad two days later.
