Week 6 Position Battle 3: Mario Williams versus Bobby Massie

Williams, Mario 1

Timothy T. Ludwig-US PRESSWIRE

In the final of my week six position battles between the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals, Star left end Mario Williams (pictured above) will take on rookie right tackle Bobby Massie (pictured below).

Through five games, Mario Williams has been a disappointment to say the least due to only having recorded a sack and a half, considering the Buffalo Bills gave him 96 million dollars over 6 years with 50 million of it guaranteed. I can tell you from first hand experience as a season ticket holder, fans are sick and tired of waiting for Mario to explode for a big game, and complied with 2-3 record  however this might be the week that he does it and the Bills could return to the .500 mark.

Rookie right tackle Bobby Massie has struggled in his first five games as well. So much so that he gave up 4.5 sacks to Miami Dolphins pass rushing specialist Cameron Wake. I was personally high on Bobby coming out of Ole Miss as I gave him a second round draft grade, however with a  game like that against Miami, I can understand why he was nearly in free fall in the NFL Draft back in late April.

Let’s look at the tale of the tape between Mario Williams and Bobby Massie:
