Philip Rivers might have all the talent in the world, but he might be the most mentally weak quarterback in the NFL. The San Diego Chargers had a 24-0 lead going into halftime. That lead lasted about 23 minutes against Peyton Manning and company. A Rivers turnover barrage certainly set all of that in motion.
Seriously, the man cannot play in a big game to save himself. He had the game basically won and then he decided to throw the wrong team the ball over and over again. Six turnovers led to a load of points and it drove everyone absolutely insane. The man has talent but you do not want him near a close game.
His interceptions were just bad too. They were horrible throws and they turned into easy turnovers. Not what you want from your franchise quarterback. It was like he completely forgot how to read a field. It was just a horrid performance anyway you look at it.
I mean, I am a jilted fantasy owner so I might be a bit unrational here. However, how do you throw three picks in the second half of a game? Better yet, you were up 24-0. You should not even have a chance to throw four interceptions. This was probably the death knell for the Chargers and they deserve it.
Rivers is once again the goat in a horrible, horrible loss. The Chargers will never will anything with him leading the charge. He is a choke artist and nothing more.
