Yesterday, I talked about how the New York Giants have their featured running in Ahmad Bradshaw. It seemed like Bradshaw has been healthier than he has ever been in any season. Bradshaw has battled various injuries throughout his career and even missed a game this year. Now comes reports that Bradshaw didn’t practice due to a foot injury. So how hurt is he?
Bradshaw had foot surgery this past off-season and during last season. He had screws put in his foot during last season and had surgery to help speed up his recovery from a stress fracture in his foot. Bradshaw had been practicing quite a bit this season and especially over the past two weeks, it seems like the extra practice has been paying off.
Head Coach Tom Coughlin said that he would practice tomorrow so it doesn’t appear that serious. The problem is though it could end up being that way. Maybe a healthier Andre Brown can help reduce some of the workload for Bradshaw to keep him healthy. Brown missed this past week’s game after suffering a concussion the week before.
If the Giants are going to try and repeat as champions or even come close to it, Bradshaw needs to be healthy. This is clearly a different team when they can run the ball consistently. Yes they finished dead last year in rushing in 2012, but you can’t tell me that they could still win the Super Bowl by being that bad. They were able to run the ball a lot better during their playoff run and that helped them and they need to continue to run the ball effectively to have success this year and that starts with Bradshaw.
