The Jacksonville Jaguars are a relatively healthy team coming off of their bye week, but they still have some key injuries that will affect them this weekend when they travel to take on the Oakland Raiders.

Jaguars wide receiver Laurent Robinson remains in the concussion program and is likely to miss his second consecutive game on Sunday. Robinson will remain out until he passes his concussion test and there is no timetable for his return to the field, but considering he suffered concussions in two consecutive games it may be awhile before he is cleared by doctors to return to full contact.

In Robinson’s absence, the Jaguars will start Cecil Shorts in his place. Shorts had been making a case for increased snaps prior to Robinson’s injury with his ability to make big plays in the passing game, now he will have an opportunity to show he is worthy of an expanded role in the Jaguars offense.

The Jaguars also announced that they expect safety Dwight Lowery to miss several weeks with an ankle injury.

Coach Mike Mularkey said that Chris Prosinski will start on Sunday in Lowery’s place, but said that newly signed safety Chris Harris will also see some playing time this weekend. Prosinski has had trouble with blown coverage assignments and missed tackles when he has played this season, so with an experienced veteran like Harris on the roster he may get pulled early if he continues to struggle.

In other injury news, the Jaguars expect to have defensive end George Selvie (knee) available for the first time this season after he practiced fully on Wednesday. The Jaguars are also hoping to have linebacker Daryl Smith (groin) for the first time this season, but will not be certain of his status until later in the week.
