The New Orleans Saints will be facing their division rivals the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa Bay on Sunday. The Saints will be looking for their second win of the season and as far as I am concerned it is a must-win game.
In order for the Saints to defeat the Buccaneers quarterback Drew Brees will need to have another big game much like he did in week five against the San Diego Chargers. I think that this match-up with the Buccaneers is quite favorable for Brees and he should have a field day against his division rivals.
The Buccaneers are ranked 31st in the NFL in pass defense as they allow 312.2 passing yards per game. The Buccaneers secondary is clearly one of the worst in the league and Brees will no doubt take advantage of that.
For the season Brees has thrown for 1,720 yards, good enough for sixth in the NFL, for 14 touchdowns, tied for second most in the NFL. Furthermore, Brees leads the NFL in passing yards per game with a staggering 344 yards a contest. Brees is not showing any signs of slowing down and I think the Saints will walk away with a win as a result of another big day from Brees.
One of Brees’s favorite targets, tight end Jimmy Graham, is a game time decision for Sunday. However, even if Graham does not play Brees will still have plenty of options to throw to. Wide receiver Lance Moore is returning from injury and should have a nice bounce back game against the Buccaneers.
Furthermore, Marques Colston has been on a tear lately and has shown why he is one of the best receivers in the NFL. Drew Brees is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and the Saints have a great receiving unit. Brees will demolish the Buccaneers secondary and the Saints will come out with their second win of the season.
