Rant Sports Visits the Giants & Redskins Game

Paul Frederiksen-US PRESSWIRE

In our second installment of Fan Rants sponsored by Bud Light, we are at the New York Giants and Washington Redskins game from MetLife Stadium. We’ve already been to Denver and will also be making appearances in Baltimore and New England.

We picked today’s game because of the NFC East rivalry between these two traditional rivals. While the Giants have been the better team for much of the past ten years, the Redskins feature one of the league brightest young players in Robert Griffin III. If Griffin plays anything like he did last week (against a solid defense from the Minnesota Vikings), this should make for one fun afternoon of football from New Jersey. Last weekend, Grffin threw for 182 yards and a TD but rushed for 138 yards and two TDs. He gave the home fans in Washington something to be excited about. Considering he’s facing the defending Super Bowl champions, I am sure he would love to steal the spotlight.

The Giants looked quite impressive last week in their win over the San Francisco 49ers. There have been time where the Giants look like the team to beat, and others when they look human. But one thing is for sure, they’re a dangerous team that can beat you in many different ways.

I think the Giants should win this game fairly easily. Playing at home and coming off an impressive win at San Francisco has this team in a really good place. Along with a handful of teams, the Giants are certainly in the team photo for best team in the NFC.

Before the game, the Rant Sports crew will be interviewing fans about this rivalry. If your at the game and you happen to see us, come on by and say hello. We’d love to meet everyone. If you follow me on Twitter @ChicagoBearJew, I’ll be Tweeting updates through the morning.
