Knowshon Moreno Most Likely Denver Bronco To Be Traded

Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno is not living up the first-round pick the team used on him in the 2009 NFL Draft when he was the 12th overall pick. Moreno has shown some flashes of being a great third down back and a pass-catching threat, but consistency hasn’t been there at all.

He seems to be hurt often and there are some games in which Moreno just disappears. It is obvious that the Broncos have lost hope that he can become a consistent threat out of the backfield. Moreno just gets a few touches here and there to spell Willis McGahee and Ronnie Hillman. The latter is a rookie who hasn’t shown a lot either, but the Broncos lean on him to spell McGahee a lot more often than they do Moreno.

Moreno is due to make over $3 million next season, so if the Broncos are not going to use him very much and Hillman is going to stay ahead of him on the depth chart they should trade him as soon as they can.

Moreno was a first-round draft pick three years ago who has shown some flashes of being a good back. There is probably a team or two out there that may give a mid-round pick in order to get a back that has the potential to contribute on passing downs.

The Broncos have a club option on Moreno for the 2014 season and he becomes a free agent in 2015.
