Welcome back to the Rant Sports power rankings for Week 8. There were many exciting games in Week 7 and if you got a chance to watch the early games on Sunday, you were not disappointed. The two afternoon games were also quite exciting, with both games going to overtime.
However, though the games were great to watch, the outcome didn’t do much to the overall standings in my power rankings. A few teams moved up or down as per usual, but there wasn’t the major upset or the dominant win to make a team move up seven or eight spots. In fact, really the only statement win came from the Houston Texans.
The Texans absolutely man-handled the Baltimore Ravens, albeit the injury prone version. The Ravens are without Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb for the rest of the year, but I doubt anyone thought they would get blown out of the stadium the way that they did.
They still have everyone on offense, and Wade Phillips made Cam Cameron look like a fool. Though, judging by some of the tweets I see from Ravens fans, that’s not a daunting task.
After leaping from 26 all the way up to the top five, the Arizona Cardinals have come down to earth and have lost three straight, dropping them back down to No. 12. They have a ton of quarterback issues to figure out, and they may have just been overachieving through the first four weeks.
Enjoy the rankings, and feel free to comment below if you feel I messed up.
