New York Giants’ Victor Cruz Will Not Hold Out Right Now
Victor Cruz of the New York Giants has clearly proven that he is a viable threat in the NFL at the wide receiver position. He might even be in the top ten if you were to rank the best receivers in the league. He also is one of the most underpaid receivers at $540,000. Cruz is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, where if some team offers him an astronomical contract, that could take him from the Giants.
Cruz has been on radio this week, talking about how he wants to get a deal done during the season. NFL analyst Ross Tucker tweeted that Cruz should hold out starting now so he can get his money.
When asked about it Cruz said: “I should hold out, right? [It will] never happen,” Cruz told reporters. “Because if I’m going to do that I might as well do it in the beginning of the season, and not wait when I’m doing so well, and just hold out. I want to continue to help my team win.
“The team’s going to panic if I hold out. That’s not me. I just want to go out and play football and continue to be myself.”
Cruz is 100% right. There is no way he should hold out right now. He would completely ruin his image and ruin his team’s chance at repeating as Super Bowl Champs. The Giants will do right by Cruz and give him the money he deserves, especially if he keeps putting up the numbers he has. Cruz is playing this correctly and the payout will happen at the end.
