Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez Overrated? New York Jets Coach Rex Ryan Just Laughs
According to a Sports Illustrated NFL player poll, they are.
From this week’s SI: 180 NFL players were polled and chose Tebow & Sanchez as the NFL’s two most overrated players: twitter.com/si_vault/statu…

How exactly can a backup quarterback be overrated? I guess you’ll have to ask the players who said so.
Thursday, Jets coach Rex Ryan was asked his reaction to the poll results, and all he could do was laugh.
“Wow,” Ryan chuckled. “What are you gonna say? I don’t even know how to comment on that. I’m happy that they’re on my football team, on our football team. It seems like the Jets always get someone [on these lists].”
Ryan’s definitely right about one thing. It’s probably no coincidence that a team like the Jets, always in the media’s crosshairs, would be on the average NFL player’s mind when it comes to a poll question like this.
Seems to me that we would’ve seen similar results had players been asked, “who does the media talk about way too much for no apparent reason?”
There’s nothing “overrated” about Sanchez or Tebow. It’s not as if they’re jumping up and down, waving their arms, screaming for attention. The media are the ones who overhype them. They’ve got nothing to do with it.
Regardless, the poll results are meaningless. The Jets will keep on keeping on, focusing on the task at hand. This week, that task is beating the Miami Dolphins. Everything else is just noise.

Three questions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense needs to answer
While I’d love say that they’ll be competing for a playoff spot one year after drafting Jameis Winston with the No. 1 overall pick, I can’t.
