The Denver Broncos put on an amazing performance against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football by winning 34-14 and apparently the NFL and FedEx took notice.

It is not usual that an offensive player and defensive player for the same team receive Player of the Week awards, but this week Broncos QB Peyton Manning was nominated for the FedEx Air award and LB Wesley Woodyard was named the AFC Player of the Week by the NFL.

Both players were well deserving of the awards as each put up numbers this week against the Saints that were mentioned in the record books.

Manning became only the second QB in the history of the NFL to throw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in four consecutive games. Manning was  nominated for this same award two other times this season.

Woodyard also found his way into the record books by becoming on the ninth player in the history of the NFL to record at least 10 tackles, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble in the same game. However, the league only began to recognize a sack as an official sack in 1982.

These performances were two reasons why the Broncos were able to dominate the Saints and hopefully these players will continue to make the Broncos one of the elite teams in the NFL.
