Just a little bit ago the Buffalo Bills announced they have taken rookie cornerback Ron Brooks off of the newly created Injured Reserve Recall listand put offensive lineman Chad Rinehart on Injured Reserve, thus ending his 2012 season.
Ron Brooks was a fourth round pick out of Louisiana State University, who was dubbed “Pick 6” because he had three interceptions in college, and they were all returned for a touchdown. He also played second fiddle to Tyrann Mathieu who is better known as “The Honey Badger” and Arizona Cardinals star cornerback, Patrick Peterson.
Chad Rinehart was playing in place of injured right guard, Kraig Urbik who was nursing a high ankle sprain since the game with the New England Patriots. And Chad played well, assisting the rest of his line in opening up holes for star halfbacks Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller.
In the preseason and training camp, it was looking like Ron Brooks was going to win a starting cornerback job with fellow rookie Stephon Gilmore, but a broken foot caused a major setback, I can only hope he bounces back fast. I had the honor to meet him a few weeks back, he’s an extremely quiet soft spoken guy and he is very fan friendly which is nice to see from a rookie.
