The New York Giants will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in what is the national televised game of the week at 4:25 Sunday afternoon. In a game in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, (one that I think should be played in Pittsburgh instead) here are some factors to pay attention to
Man In The Middle: Chase Blackburn will be out for the Giants and Marc Herzlich will start in his spot. Either he or Michael Boley will be making the defensive calls. This is important because the defense may have some communication issues on certain plays and calls during the game. It’s something to watch to see if the Steelers take advantage of that. If the Giants are misaligned on a certain play, Ben Roethlsiberger is certainly smart enough to take advantage.
Line Shuffle: David Diehl will be back along the offensive line on the right side replacing Sean Locklear. It will be interesting to see if he does a better job than Locklear on the right side. Diehl can play all over so him playing there shouldn’t be that much of an issue.
A back issue: Issac Redman is in. Johnathan Dwyer is out for the Steelers this weekend. Redman will pose a different challenge for the Giants D. Dwyer is more of a power back and Redman has a little more speed and is better pass catcher. Ahmad Bradshaw didn’t participate in practice on Friday. I bet he plays on Sunday and is effective for the Giants just like every other week.
