10 NFL Teams Most Likely To Lose in Week 9

NFL
Kyle Terada-US PRESSWIRE

Week 9 in the NFL is full of make-or-break games for some teams and is sure to be full of drama.

Halfway through the season some teams are sitting pretty on top of their division while others, who were preseason favorites, are struggling just to keep their playoff hope alive.

Some teams are technically eliminated from playoff contention like the (1-6) Kansas City Chiefs, the (1-6) Jacksonville Jaguars and the (1-6) Carolina Panthers.

Then there are teams hovering at .500 or just under who can still technically make a playoff push like the (4-4) Arizona Cardinals, the (3-4) Dallas Cowboys and the (3-4) Philadelphia Eagles.

For some reason or another whether it be injuries, coaching, lack of talent or a combination of all three those teams haven’t been able to put it together. A loss on Sunday or Monday would surely end their playoff hopes.

As we’ve learned from past experiences it’s very hard to predict wins and losses in the NFL, but I’m going to give it a crack. It may not be the most conventional thing to do, but I will pick ten teams, which I think are most likely to lose in week 9.

I’ve done some research in an attempt to be as accurate as I can be in picking my losers, and although some picks may be obvious; others aren’t.

So without further ado, I give to you my ten teams most likely to lose in week 9 of the NFL season.

Lions vs. Jaguars

Detroit Lions vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars lose this game regardless of that thing that rhymes with “cadden murse,” which has plagued Calvin Johnson.

Broncos vs. Bengals

NFL
Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

Denver Broncos vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals lose this game, and it won’t be close, at all. Peyton Manning will go off for 300+ yards and 3 touchdowns.

4 of 11

Panthers vs. Redskins

NFL
Sam Sharpe-US PRESSWIRE

Carolina Panthers vs. Washington Redskins

The Panthers lose this one as Robert Griffin III continues to build his legacy in Washington.

5 of 11

Dolphins vs. Colts

NFL

Miami Dolphins vs. Indianapolis Colts

Colts lose at home due to their inability to stop the run. I expect Reggie Bush will slice and dice that defense.

6 of 11

Bills vs. Texans

NFL
Luc Leclerc-US PRESSWIRE

Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans

The Bills are going to get embarrassed when they play the best team in the AFC.

7 of 11

Vikings vs. Seahawks

NFL
Steven Bisig-US PRESSWIRE

Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Vikings will put up a good fight but will lose on the road. The Seahawks are just plain hard to beat at home.

8 of 11

Buccaneers vs. Raiders

NFL
Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Oakland Raiders

The Bucs lose on the road against the Raiders. I can’t see them absorbing so many injuries to the offensive line and just keep on trucking. Give me the RRRAAAIIIDDDAAAHHHSSS in this one.

9 of 11

Steelers vs. Giants

NFL
Alan Maglaque-US PRESSWIRE

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Giants

Steelers lose a close one against the G-Men. I don’t know how the Giants do it, but they find ways to win.

10 of 11

Cowboys vs. Falcons

NFL
Tim Heitman-US PRESSWIRE

Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta loses at home and falls to 7-1. Dallas is backed against a corner and has nowhere to go. Tony Romo starts his unbelievable Super Bowl run on Sunday in Atlanta.

11 of 11

Eagles vs. Saints

NFL
Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints

Eagles lose on the road against the Saints. Too much firepower on the Saints’ offense and an undisciplined Eagles defense marks the end of the Michael Vick era in Philly.
