Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt says QB Kevin Kolb will be ready “Sooner”. He still did not have a time table for his return, but the injury seems to be progressing quite well. Kolb suffered a rib injury in week 6 against the Buffalo Bills and has been out since that particular game. If I was a guessing man I would say that he and Beanie Wells will be back on the November 25th game against the St. Louis Rams.
What could Kolb’s return to the Cardinals mean?
At this point not very much. The Cardinals drew a pretty tough schedule as it turns out. That fact that they are 4-5 at this point was against all odds, but for them to be 4-5 after starting 4-0 is even more ridiculous. QB John Skelton has not done a great job in Kolb’s absence, but he has thrown for some pretty nice gains over the past two games. The problem with Skelton is timing. It’s almost always too late before Skelton shows up.
I think fans have figured out that the Cardinal’s QB future is not in the hands of someone on this team. If backup QB Ryan Lindley is the future, the Cardinals should start him against the Atlanta Falcons. He may struggle, but at least they would be building towards something. Right now they are not improving, which means they are not building at all.
Kolb will be a breath of fresh air. In the first week of the season, Kolb did not have very many fans. Now, he has all of Cardinals’ nation wishing he was back, so the Cardinals can finally get back on track.
