Detroit Lions Ndamukong Suh Voted NFL’s Dirtiest Player Again
In an anonymous poll taken by Sporting News, the third-year pro received 32 votes from a poll that questioned 103 current NFL players on who they felt was the dirtiest player in the league. Last season the poll questioned 111 players and Suh received 36 votes.
An anonymous defensive player told Sporting News “Suh. He hasn’t done anything crazy this (this year). The types of hits he puts on quarterbacks, the way he finishes guys–some of them are legal, but a lot of them I’d say are over the top.”
In second place in the poll was Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito who received 19 votes who made the jump from sixth place last season. Following Incognito in third place was St. Louis Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan who also finished in third last season as well and stated that he wanted to be recognized as the dirtiest player in the league. Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker and 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, James Harrison dropped from second place in the poll last season to fourth this year.
Earlier this season according to a survey conducted by Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research, Suh was voted as the least liked player amongst NFL fans. One thing that is for certain about the Lions star defensive lineman is that he receives equal opposition in his on-field character from both his peers and football fans alike.
