Broncos vs. Panthers NFL Week 10 Preview

QB Cam Newton was all smiles as he scored late in the game against the Washington Redskins last week and the Carolina Panthers won 21-13. I don’t think the Denver Broncos are planning on Newton smiling when they leave Bank of America Stadium this Sunday.

The Broncos and QB Peyton Manning are on a hot streak, but they could easily have one of their toughest matchups of the last several weeks when they suit up against the Panthers. Carolina boasts the league’s 12th-best passing defense and 12th-best rushing offense, but the toughest challenge for Denver will be the team’s first true test against a running QB. Newton has rushed 59 times for 347 yards and four touchdowns this season and he currently leads the Panthers in rushing.

The Broncos will have their hands full with Newton, but head coach John Fox will have a great game plan that will keep the sophomore QB at bay and won’t let him beat Denver by his feet alone. This will be coach Fox’s first time to play against his old team so one can only assume he will be ready more than usual and certainly focused coming off a Broncos win.

I think the Broncos will give up a few big plays, but will also come up with some big plays themselves on defense, which will allow Manning to lead Denver to its fourth straight win.
