Peyton Manning Leads All Players in Pro Bowl Voting

By Joe Morrone

The amazing comeback season for Peyton Manning continued on Wednesday when the first results of Pro Bowl balloting were released. The Denver Broncos quarterback is the leading vote getter in the league. When the Broncos signed Manning back in March; they were hopeful that he could return to his Pro Bowl form at some point, but even the most optimistic person has to be stunned by Manning’s performance.

There were growing pains early and a lot of doubters following losses to the Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans and New England Patriots. Manning wasn’t terrible in those games but he certainly wasn’t the quarterback that everyone knew from his days as an Indianapolis Colt. Following the loss to the Patriots, the Broncos found themselves down 24-0 to the San Diego Chargers at halftime and the season looked as if it was sliding away. Then the light bulb went on for Manning and the offense, and they haven’t been stopped since.

Manning continues to rank in the top five of every major passing statistic and is number one in terms of quarterback rating. At this point, Manning looks just as good now as he did during his MVP years with the Colts. The great news for Broncos’ fans is that Manning believes he is still not 100% and he gets a little better every week, how much better can he play is the question? Manning leading the Pro Bowl voting is a great story but if you asked him, he would tell you that playing in another bowl is the real goal.

In addition to Manning; Von Miller, Wesley Woodyard, Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker are also among the top vote getters at their respective positions. The Denver Broncos are winning and when the team does well, the individual kudos are sure to follow.
