The New Orleans Saints are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now and they continue their ascent up the power rankings. The Saints are currently on a two-game winning streak and have won their last four out of five games. Not bad for a team that started the season 0-4. In the AP Pro32 power rankings the Saints came in at number 14 for week 11 and with another win could very well move up again.
Over the past three weeks the Saints have gone from being ranked 23 all the way to 14. In week 10 the Saints were ranked at 17 but with their impressive win over the Atlanta Falcons in week 11 they jumped up three spots. The Saints have been able to win because they have become a much more balanced team as of late.
The passing game has been great for the Saints all season long and the defense is finally starting to come around. However, it has been their running game that has made all the difference in their recent resurgence. Since the Saints have been able to establish their ground game they have been winning games and this does not bode well for opposing teams.
The Saints are finally starting to turn their season around and if they keep playing the way they have been recently a wildcard berth does not seem out of the question. The Saints’ next game will be against the 3-6 Oakland Raiders and a win would put them at .500 for the first time this season. The Saints should be able to handle the Raiders and extend their winning streak to three. If the Saints keep winning they will continue to rise up the power rankings and hopefully sneak into the playoffs.
