New York Giants Work Out Ten Players

Just because the New York Giants are on a bye, doesn’t mean they can’t make some news. It looks like the Giants may make a roster move and it wouldn’t be surprising if it was at running back. Ahmad Bradshaw’s injury problem is rearing it’s ugly head and the Giants may need to add an additional running back.

The Giants placed rookie defensive tackle Markus Kuhn on season-ending IR with his torn ACL. Kuhn looks like he’s going to be a part of the defensive line for the next few years if he can recover from his injury. He’s still very raw and it looked like he was developing.

The Giants brought in 10 different players to work out including four different running backs, which gives an indication to me that Bradshaw may be injured more then the team is saying. Those four should be familiar to NFL fans; Joseph Addai, Ryan Torain, Mewelde Moore and Kregg Lumpkin. It wouldn’t shock me if any of those four, if they impressed in the workout, were signed for the rest of the year to give the Giants some additional depth.

The Giants also brought in QB Curtis Painter, DB’s Bubba Forest, Dante Hughes and Trumaine McBride, T James Carmon and LB Jabara Williams.

I would say the most likely player signed is either Addai or Torain. I’ve always thought Torain had talent and it shocked me that Mike Shanahan didn’t play him that much last season. The Giants don’t have to decide now; they could sign someone next week if they wanted to, or activate someone off the practice squad for the rest of the season.
