A fan who attended Thursday night’s game between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins was found dead this morning according to the Buffalo News. The 26-year old fan’s name and cause of death have not been released and there is no sign of foul play.
His brother reported him missing after the game and his body was found face down near Ralph Wilson Stadium, where police used a helicopter to find him. Earlier in the night, the fan was ejected from the game for being intoxicated.
This is very sad news for the his family and for the Buffalo community, especially in the wake of such a good night for the team. The Bills won the game against one of their rivals, they were the toast of the NFL for one night and this certainly puts a damper on the evening.
It’s times like this when we should all remember that football is just a game and no matter how serious we take it sometimes, it’s not as important as our friends and family. Going to a football game is supposed to be a fun experience, and tragedies like this can put things in perspective. I’m not suggesting the fan did anything wrong, I’m saying it’s at times like these that it’s important to remember the good things we have in our lives. It’s especially appropriate now, around Thanksgiving, to be thankful for all you’ve got.
If you ask any of my close family or friends they’ll tell you I’m too invested in the Dallas Cowboys and that maybe true, actually it is definitely true, but there is nothing I love more than all of them.
So consider this an early Thanksgiving thought from me to all of my friends and family, you all come first and the Cowboys are a distant second.
