The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a world of trouble with injuries. Two of their QBs are on the shelf and now the wide receiver position is getting pretty thin. In a surprising move, the Steelers have reached out to former WR Plaxico Burress and he is going to take a physical with the team.

If you have forgotten by now, Burress started with the Steelers before moving on to other teams. I am kind of shocked to see them go this well but if you have injuries, you need the best players you can get to fill in. With Antonio Brown still nursing a bad ankle and Jerricho Cotchery getting knocked around on Sunday, they need a body to step in. Burress showed that he still has something left in the tank and he could be highly motivated.
Of course, the Steelers are also hurting at QB. Byron Leftwich played admirably but he suffered a couple of broken ribs that were clearly bothering him. Ben Roethlisberger is still out and I bet that he does not play this week. Getting Buress back would be nice, but it will not matter if they do not have anyone to throw him the ball. The Steelers just need to maintain for the next week or two if they hope to make the playoffs.
