This is a unique week when it comes to my Public Enemy #1, because we’re having two members of the Indianapolis Colts earning the badge of honor this week. Those two men are the outside linebackers for the Colts, Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis. Just a reminder, it a disparaging thing to be given this honor; rather, it’s a token of respect saying that the Buffalo Bills must stop you at all costs to win the game.

These two guys are both above 30-years old, but they still command respect in the pass rush, so the Bills tackles Cordy Glenn and Chris Hairston will have to call on their pass blocking skills to keep quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick clean and healthy, something that is crucial, to say the least, to make a hopeful playoff run this season.

This season, these two guys switched from defensive ends to outside linebackers due to a change in scheme from Super Bowl-winning coach Tony Dungy‘s Tampa-2 defense to a 3-4 defense. This scheme benefits bigger defensive linemen who are monster run-clogger nose tackles, and pass rushing outside linebackers over the Tampa-2, which favors smaller and faster defensive ends to create pressure.

Once again thank you  for reading one of my articles, and I heavily encourage discussion so either leave a comment on here, hit me up on twitter @TheProfessorSD or I am using Google+ so if you could +1 this and any other article of mine you’ve read and liked. I will discuss this article or anything else you’d like football related! Have a great thanksgiving!
