As the Tennessee Titans prepare to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville, there is little time to rest despite having a Bye week during week 11 of the 2012 NFL season. Not only does Jacksonville only have one win, but they also did not get that win in Jacksonville. Which puts things a tad bit in favor of the Titans ironically.
Tennessee got back to work in full swing by Wednesday of this week and then had a shortened day Thursday for Thanksgiving. Friday was another full practice where they really buckled down on what needed to be focused on to beat the Jaguars.
Head coach Mike Munchak sees these games as also being very important stating, “I think it’s just the fact that these games are all division games. We haven’t won one. We just have to get two in a row and see if we can continue and build on our confidence.”
Because of the location of the game there should be a decent turnout for both sides of the playing field. And because of that, even though Jacksonville has home field advantage, it really won’t be as overpowering.
Munchak stated that the biggest difference in preparing to play Jacksonville is knowing in the past the Jaguars have run the ball a lot. This year they seem to be passing more often. This will yet again set up a more challenging situation for the Titans defense.
It’s nothing that they cannot handle though. It is just going to be a change of pace. Reviewing tape will be different. Hopefully by Sunday the Titans will have a healthy defense.
