The San Diego Chargers will not make the playoffs this season
San Diego has a 1-5 record in their last six games after starting the 2012 NFL season with a 3-1 record.
The Lightning Bolts are 0-4 against teams that currently have a winning record.
San Diego has two games remaining against such teams which include a game on Sunday against the 8-2 Baltimore Ravens in San Diego and a road game in two weeks against Pittsburgh.
The Chargers have a 4-2 record all-time at home against Baltimore while they are 2-15 against the Steelers in Pittsburgh which includes a current six game losing streak.
San Diego is also 0-3 against teams from the NFC South with one game remaining against this division.
San Diego has a history of finishing seasons strong because they had a 12-4 record in 2004 after starting the season at 3-3. San Diego had a 9-7 record in 2005 after starting that season at 3-4.
San Diego finished the 2006 season on a 10 game winning streak, San Diego finished the 2007 season with an 11-5 record after starting the season at 5-5 and they were 8-8 in 2008 after starting the season at 4-8.
The Chargers had a 13-3 record in 2009 after starting the season with a 2-3 record, they finished 2010 with a 9-7 record after starting the season at 2-5 and they finished last season at 8-8 after going 4-7 through their first 11 games.
While San Diego has a history of finishing seasons strong, I do not expect it to happen again this season.
All good things must come to an end, and the way that San Diego has played this season makes me believe that they will not finish strong.
