Jarret Johnson’s text message could be bulletin board material
According to Michael Gehlken of utsandiego.com, former Baltimore outside linebacker and current Charger Jarret Johnson sent a text message to Baltimore’s offensive players as a joke.
Johnson told them that he was going to kick all of their expletives. Baltimore’s starting running back Ray Rice said “I was going to put a little laugh out loud, but no response.”
Rice continued by saying “We know what kind of guy Double J is. He’s the ultimate pro, and we’ve got tremendous respect for him.”
While Johnson spent nine seasons with Baltimore and everyone took his text message as a joke, this could also be viewed as bulletin board material for Baltimore to have a big game.
Baltimore averages 26.7 points per game which ranks eight in the NFL. San Diego had five games against teams that currently rank in the top 10 in points per game.
San Diego allowed all of these teams to score at least 27 points in a game while they were 0-5 against them.
While San Diego’s defense did not allow all of the points, they got picked apart in these games.
San Diego is fighting for their playoff lives with a 4-6 record while Baltimore has an 8-2 record and currently holds the second seed in the AFC.
San Diego is 0-4 against teams that currently have a winning record and it is probable that they will be 0-5 after tomorrow’s game.
