There is No Excuse for the Tennessee Titans Loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars
I have no idea where to even start with this week 12 matchup between these two teams. Everyone could have guessed that it was going to be pretty close, just for the sheer fact that neither team is playing to their potential this season.
The Tennessee Titans could have easily won this game. But as I have been saying all week in preparation to this meeting, you just cannot sleep on these Jacksonville Jaguars. Especially when your defense is close to last in the league. The Titans handed the Jaguars their first home win of the season and second win overall today.
It was sloppy on both ends and there really is no excuse for the loss. The Titans have five more chances to win but if you were to ask me, there is almost no shot at making the playoffs even as a wild card bid this season.
The Titans have yet to win a single game against a fellow AFC South contender with makes for a very scary next couple of weeks. Many of the players can’t explain it either making statements like they are embarrassed to lose to a team that is 1-9. They feel that it is unacceptable.
Chris Johnson didn’t have a good game, it looked like Jake Locker might have irritated that left shoulder a bit again, Rob Bironas wasn’t even as solid as he usually is. The game ended with a score of 24-19 but the Titans had the ball with great field position with 2:30 left in the fourth and did nothing with it. It was just sloppy playing Sunday afternoon.
Well yeah it really is. When a team is 9-7 in 2012 you certainly don’t expect them to turn around the next year and have a record under .500 while the season has just over a month to be played. There is no room for excuses.
And to be plain and blunt, the Titans are just simply running out of time.
