NFL Rumors: RB Marcus Lattimore to Declare for 2013 NFL Draft
Lattimore tore all four of the ligaments in his knee (ACL, MCL, PCL, and LCL) and ruptured his patella tendon. This would be nothing short of a miracle if he plays again, as he tore his ACL in 2011 as well.
Lattimore was flashing some serious brilliance this year for South Carolina before this injury. He was likely going to be the No. 1 running back coming out for the draft, but not anymore.
If I were a team that needed a backup running back, I would consider drafting him about the fifth or sixth round. and store him away for a year on injured reserve and give him a chance in 2014 unless he thinks he could be ready after week eight of 2013, time will tell.
If he can make the field at the pro level at all even if it’s just one play and it’s a preseason game even, it would be by far the feel good story of the NFL and I will inspire people that think something is impossible, but this is just my take, what do you all think? Let me know!
