The sad news out of Kansas City has finally been confirmed by local police. Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher committed suicide at the team facility Saturday morning in front of team members. Earlier in the morning, Belcher also shot and killed his girlfriend.

This is just an extreme tragedy right now. Belcher was a young starting linebacker for them and all of that is gone in one fateful decision. He was also the father of a three-month old daughter, who will now have to grow up without a father and possibly a mother.
In the matter of the game that the Chiefs have to play on Sunday, I believe that it should be postponed. There are much more important things happening than a simple game, especially in the wake of the situation. You had a young man take his own life and the life of another on Saturday. The suicide took place in front of his head coach and his general manager, which makes this even more shocking.

My prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy. It is a sad time in Kansas City and it should serve as an indicator to everyone: If you are having mental issues, please seek help. Someone will always be willing to listen and help you through your problems.
