For the last month defense captain linebacker Colin McCarthy has been back and forth with playing due to a high ankle sprain. Week 13 will be a little different for him. McCarthy is officially ruled out already due to a concussion he received during last week’s loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He has not practiced since and head coach Mike Munchak made the comment late Friday night that McCarthy ‘is not quite ready’. So they will not be playing him.

I really wish McCarthy could stay healthy. The defense is a completely different team when he is on the field. It seems as though his health often reflects the way that the team is going to play that week. If he is healthy, the defense will play well. If not, well for a majority of the year the Tennessee Titans have given up 30+ points per game.

Replacements include Tim Shaw in the base defense while Will Witherspoon will be taking care of the passing situations.

Other additional updates to the Titans week 13 injury report include receiver Damian Williams (hamstring) returned to practice. Running back Jamie Harper (ankle) and defensive end Derrick Morgan (knee) did not practice. Tight end Craig Stevens (hamstring) and wide receiver Kenny Britt (knee) both practiced all week.

Injuries continue to hurt the Titans in the second half of the season. The Houston Texans await the Titans Sunday for a week 13 showdown. Check back to Rant Sports for the inactive players a few hours before the game.
