Tennessee Titans add Tom Moore as Offensive Assistant
With a record like 4-7 the Tennessee Titans need to start making some changes. Not all changes will be with the players though. Recently the new promotion for Dowell Loggains from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator will be joined by another new assistant.
Tom Moore was in Nashville on Thursday and the entire team embraced his presence. Veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck even made the comment that Moore was ‘in his seat’ when he walked into the room for a meeting at Baptist Sports Park.
“So I just let him have my seat…I slid down a few” stated Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck is a player who not only respects his elders but has a good sense of humor and ability to recognize good change when he sees it.
Head coach Mike Munchak made it clear though that Moore is not being brought in to take anyone’s job away from them. He will be there simply because he loves the game and to provide assistance to the offense.
Titans tight end Jared Cook also had good things to say about Moore stating, “He has three Super Bowl rings and he helped Peyton Manning. He has a history of making offenses right and tweaking it to make it better.”
Aside from helping Manning and the Indianapolis Colts from 2009-2010 Moore has experience with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints. That is exactly what the Titans need right now. There is little hope to keeping their season alive right now but there is great steps towards improvement with this addition.
