The Oakland Raiders continue on their losing streak as they prepare to face their toughest opponent left on their schedule, hosting the Denver Broncos. The Raiders head coach Dennis Allen will not be with the team, he would be with his father, who has a serious medical problem.

Sadly, Grady Allen, father of the Raider’s head coach and former player, has passed away overnight.

Allen’s father was most famous for playing with the Atlanta Falcons during the late 60’s and early 70’s. He died due to heart problems, more specifically, going into cardiac arrest.

This past week has been one of tragic events and just really gives the game of football that human feel, when you realize as a fan that there is more to this than just football, but men’s lives. For Allen, he lost the man who raised him to become who he is today, and it is an emotional day for the entire Allen family.

The Raiders will prepare to face the Broncos with a lot of questions about the team, and now their mourning head coach. It would probably be best for one of the coordinators (neither are good enough to say which),  Greg Knapp or Jason Tarver.

Even quarterback Carson Palmer admits it will be hard to prepare without Allen.

I believe I speak for myself, and all of Rant Sports, when I say our thoughts go out to the entire Allen family during this difficult time, and hopefully Raider Nation will be grieving as well.
