Hidden in the New York Giants win yesterday were all the offensive injuries that the team was dealt. Victor Cruz injured his knee a little bit, but Tom Coughlin said that he’d be fine. Hakeem Nicks continues to battle injuries, and aggravated his knee injury. Nicks is probably going to continue to battle his injuries throughout the rest of the year, no matter how long the Giants end up lasting.
The big one might be Ahmad Bradshaw. Bradshaw added to his multiple injuries with a knee injury yesterday. He ended up only having 11 carries, while David Wilson stole the show with his record day. Bradshaw is getting an MRI done today as well as “all the tests” according to coach Coughlin.
This could be a really crippling blow to the Giants if Bradshaw has anything significant. The running corps is thin due to Andre Brown’s injury. Yes they brought in Kregg Lumpkin and Ryan Torain, but how much can they be trusted? Wilson is just being trusted and while he had an incredible game yesterday, it is only one game. One game does not a career make.
The Giants really need to hope that there isn’t anything wrong with Bradshaw’s knee. Bradshaw has proven himself to be a valuable commodity for the Giants and is needed for them to repeat. It’s also going to put a lot of pressure on Wilson to prove himself very quickly. This is going to be something to monitor as the week progresses.
