File this one in the memory bank the next time you think about valeting you car at any establishment. According to the Indianapolis Star, a valet named Gunner Belcher took Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne’s Bentley for a joy ride; only to be arrested for a driving while intoxicated at 2 a.m. Sunday.

And you thought the valet scratching your car was the worst thing that could happen when you give them your car!

Miraculously, Wayne was able to recover from the incident and had six catches for 64-yards and a touchdown in a Colts win against the Tennessee Titans later that day.

The story gets even better though, the 21-year old Belcher claimed to be Wayne’s cousin after he was pulled over. The car was towed and identified as Wayne’s and since been returned. There is no word on whether Wayne will press charges over the stolen vehicle.

Talk about an exciting night out. Who would think that handing over your keys to a valet would end up with that person taking your car for a ride or even stealing it? It probably happens more than we know and I guess that’s a tiny risk you take when giving your car keys to someone you don’t know.

There are enough things to worry about in our lives and it appears as though valeting your car just got added to the list. Hey, it could have been worse, the valet could have wrecked it.

Here is the lesson for today, park your own car and walk the extra steps. That way, you know where it’s been and who’s been driving it.
