New York Giants Defense Needs To Be All In This Week

You could certainly make the argument this year that the New York Giants have been carried more by their offense than their defense. The defense has been susceptible to the big play this year, already giving up more 25+ yard gains this year than they did last year. They’ve had two really dominating performances, in their wins against the San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers. The team could use another one this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Last year in the playoffs, the Giants took it to the Falcons in all facets of the game. Offense, defense, special teams, it didn’t matter. You know the Falcons are going to have extra adrenaline for this game. Not only do people not really believe in them as a top team, but people have said they haven’t beat anyone good. (I don’t know, the Denver Broncos are pretty good, though Peyton Manning was just getting comfortable in the offense week two)

Both teams have questions coming into this game. Are the Falcons a legit contender? Can they beat the Giants? Can the Giants hold off the teams in their own division to win another title?

Matt Ryan is a better quarterback than he was last year. Jacquizz Rodgers is in the backfield with Michael Turner to give them a great duo. Julio Jones and Roddy White are a top receiving duo. The Giants defense needs to be All In on Sunday. Otherwise, they might find themselves all out luck come the end of the season.
