Jacksonville Jaguars Should Make Pitch For Joe Flacco In Offseason
There are soon going to be 20 National Football League teams looking towards 2013 when the 2012 season comes to an end in three weeks. There are some key free agents that will be available including Joe Flacco. I think there is one team that needs to be at the front door of Flacco when free agency starts: the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars have no real quarterback answers right now with Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert and could use a quarterback who has playoff experience. Flacco is the perfect choice and when you add a healthy Maurice Jones-Drew along with Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts at wide receiver, it is actually a very solid offense. Flacco would need to leave a fairly good offense with the Baltimore Ravens and the Ravens would have to not put the franchise tag on Flacco for him to head south to Jacksonville. I get the feeling that Flacco feels a bit angry with the Baltimore organization for getting the Ray Rice deal done first and will leave if that tag isn’t put on.
The whole Jacksonville organization needs a jolt and could use a high draft pick this year on getting some offensive line help if they do decide to bring in a quarterback during the offseason. It sounds almost too logical to me to go after Flacco if I’m the Jaguars. It would actually help them compete in the AFC South with the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts sooner than later and winning always brings more fans to the stadium each week.
