Week 15 NFL Picks

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Well we’re really into it now aren’t we? There are only three games left on the schedule and the races are getting razor thin. One loss and your team’s season could be done; a win and your team might be into the playoffs. This is the time where it’s the most fun in the season, if your team is still alive. Sure there are teams who are already in the playoffs but there is still plenty to be determined. There are only four divisional matchups this week but there are tons of good games to watch on Sunday. Thursday and Monday not so much.

Some of the more interesting matchups include the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers in what is the quintessential America’s Game in the NFL and the New York Giants travel down to Atlanta to take on the slumping Falcons. Other great games to watch, the Ravens host the Broncos and the Bears host their rivals, the Green Bay Packers. We can also add one of the NFL’s best rivalries with the Raiders hosting the Chiefs. Those teams hate each other so it doesn’t matter that both teams stink. And let’s not forget that Sunday night cold be giving us a Super Bowl preview with the 49ers traveling to New England to play the Patriots.

So grab your favorite beverage and some buffalo wings because I’m about to pick all the games in this week’s picks. *I went 10-6 last week, which tied for my worst week ever so I need to get back on the winning track. 12 wins at a minimum:

Bengals Win

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The week kicks off on Thursday night when the Eagles, who snapped an 8-game losing streak, host the Bengals who are coming off of a tough loss to the Cowboys. Despite what happened last week for both teams I think the more physical team will win and that is the Bengals. Their defensive front four will abuse the Eagles offensive line and they will beat up the Eagles. Cincy wins.

Falcons Win

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants travel to Atlanta in one of the better games of the week. The Falcons haven’t been playing their best football lately and they get a Giants team that seems to turn it on when they play the better teams in the league. Good luck trying to figure this game out! Luckily for you I’m here to help. This game will be a high scoring game and the Falcons are still looking for respect. I think the Falcons passing game will make enough plays against a porous Giants secondary and the Giants will fall into 2nd place in the NFC East for the first time in a long time, Falcons win.

4 of 17

Broncos Win

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Another good game in Baltimore where the Ravens welcome the Broncos. The Ravens defense isn’t what it used to be and the Broncos bring a very good offense to challenge them on Sunday. The Broncos will have the extended break to prepare for the game and I think Denver’s offense has too many weapons to for the Ravens D to handle. The Broncos defense and Von Miller will also get after Joe Flacco. Broncos win.

5 of 17

Packers Win

Scott Kane-USA TODAY Sports

One of the best rivalries in the NFL takes stage on Sunday when the Bears host the Packers. The teams are moving in opposite directions and the Packers maybe getting a couple of their best defenders back in Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews. The Bears offensive line does not need to see Clay Matthews after his 4 sack performance the first time around but it looks like they’ll be seeing him. Green Bay is surging and the Bears are fading, tough to see that changing this week, Packers win.

6 of 17

Redskins Win

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

In a game of teams who are shockingly streaking right now, the Browns travel to DC to battle the Redskins. It doesn’t look like RGIII will play which will make the game a little more interesting but I still like Washington to win the game. They’ll run the ball with enough effectiveness to keep the Browns defense on its heels and slow Brandon Weeden and the passing game. The Browns will fight for the entire game and they’ll keep it close with Trent Richardson running the ball against a soft ‘Skins rush defense but I still think Washington wins.

7 of 17

Texans Win

Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports

In Houston, the shocked Texans host the Indianapolis Colts, who have a chance to win the division by sweeping the Texans in the next few weeks. Houston needs to get up off of the mat from the beat down at the hands of the Pats and the defense needs to get better in a hurry. Andre Luck and the Colts have a good offense but they struggle on defense, so I expect the Texans to move the ball well this Sunday. Houston plays well at home and I expect them to get back on track this week, Texans win.

8 of 17

Dolphins Win

Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

In Miami, the Dolphins host the Jaguars in a battle for bragging rights in the state…for the AFC. Happy homecoming Chad Henne! I can’t see the Jags scoring many points against a good Dolphin defense and Miami will put up enough points to walk away with the win. Dolphins win.

9 of 17

Saints Win

Byron Hetzler-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers try to stay in the playoff picture when they travel to New Orleans this weekend. The Saints playoff run looks dead and they can take pride in keeping a division opponent out of the playoffs with a win. The Saints defense has trouble stopping anyone and I wonder how much they can slow the Bucs offense. Both teams will move the ball easily but in the end I’ll take the home team in a high scoring, fun game. Saints win.

10 of 17

Rams Win

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The St. Louis Rams have won three straight, just like the Cleveland Browns, what is going on in the NFL? The Rams aim for win number 4 in a row when they host the Vikings, well when they host the Adrian Peterson’s. The Rams defense is much better than you think but it appears All Day Adrian is matchup proof and is on his way to 2,000 yards. Still, I like the Rams to continue the win streak and somehow stay in the NFC playoff race, Rams defeat the Peterson’s.

11 of 17

Cardinals Win

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals return home after the beating the beating they took last week in Seattle. It’s 50-50 whether the fans cheer or boo so place your bets now! The Lions are coming to town with an offense that throws the ball all over the field. The Cardinals haven’t won since week 4 of the NFL season, but they will this week. Cards give their fans something to cheer about and I’m picking the Cards because there’s no way they can look that bad again this week, Arizona wins.

12 of 17

Seahawks Win

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills host their annual game in Toronto when they welcome the Seattle Seahawks to town on Sunday. The Bills rush defense is among the worst in the game and it’s not a good time to be playing the Seahawks who are very physical along their offensive line. Marshawn Lynch returns to Buffalo, sort of, and guides Seahawks to the win.

13 of 17

Panthers Win

Mike Di Novo-USA TODAY Sports

The San Diego Chargers are coming off their “where the heck has that been all year” performance last week in Pittsburgh when they host Cam Newton, who is coming off his “where the heck has that been all year” performance against the Falcons last week. Which team shows up for this game is a guessing game since both teams have the ability to throw up a stinker or play well. I’ll take the Panthers to win on the road.

14 of 17

Raiders Win

Kelley L. Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Chiefs head to Oakland in this AFC West rivalry game and it should be fun even though both teams aren’t very good. Ok that’s putting it mildly, they stink. The Raiders have the extra few days off and that should help. Oakland wins.

15 of 17

Steelers Win

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys host the Pittsburgh Steelers in what can only be described as “America’s Game of the Week.” Both teams are limping into the matchup with injuries crushing each side. No one knows whether or not Dez Bryant will play and that could mean the outcome rests on his decision. I’m not so sure, the Steelers always seem to pay well after poor outings in the Mike Tomlin era and I see it that way again. They also get a healthier Big Ben, Steelers win.

16 of 17

Patriots Win

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

In perhaps the game of the week, the San Francisco 49ers travel to New England for a Sunday night fight. The Pats always save their best efforts for these big primetime matchups, just ask the Houston Texans and the New York Jets. The Patriots will win a close game because I can’t see Colin Kaepernick getting a win in New England. Pats win.

17 of 17

Titans Win

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday night, we get the stellar matchup of the Jets and the Titans! Yeah, not so much. Amazingly, the Jets still have a playoff chance if they win out but I have a sneaky feeling the Titans bring one of their better efforts on the year. Titans will win and Jets fans may all go the way of Fireman Ed before Christmas. Titans win.
