Phil Emery & Lovie Smith…Tweedledee & Tweedledum
I want to thank the Chicago Bears head coach and general manager for totally screwing the pooch last Sunday. It isn’t that these decisions would have changed the outcome of the game, but it tells a bigger story into the levels of incompetence that fill the halls at Halas Hall.
Both running back Michael Bush and defensive tackle Matt Toeaina dressed against the Green Bay Packers. We’ve come to learn that both were hurt and have been placed on IR since that game. In the team’s biggest game of the season, they carried two guys that wouldn’t have played. It even gets worse. The Bears had Kahlil Bell in town ready to play. But they decided to keep an injured Bush on the roster.
When the Bears hired general manager Phil Emery, I had strong reservations about his ability to lead the Bears. Based on this story, I think he’s an even bigger idiot than I originally thought. Head coach Lovie Smith determines who dresses on game day, but shouldn’t the general manager give him a healthy roster to work with? Smith isn’t innocent in all this either. He’s the knucklehead that dressed both injured players.
In addition to a questionable draft and failures to address the offensive line, tight end and safety position, Emery obviously isn’t smart enough to read an injury report. Smith continues to get the award for one of the biggest collapses in NFL history. Together these two are ruining the Bears.
