Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll is not making a lot of friends in the NFC West right now. It started with a 58-0 blowout of the Arizona Cardinals and of course the most recent victory over the San Francisco 49ers in prime time. The Seahawks are the hottest team in the league right now, but their division title hopes are in the hands of the Cardinals. Will they put their best foot forward and play a game of playoff spoiler?
First off, the Cardinals have more problems than they can count right now. Half way through the season I thought this team was one player away from being a playoff team. Now, I think they are closer to nine. With exception of Andre Roberts and Larry Fitzgerald the entire offense needs to be fixed. Starting with releasing anything on the team that even resembles a quarterback. Dropped passes, missed blocking assignments and terrible throws are not an effective way to run an offense.
The Cardinals may want to win this game, but they do not want to help the Seahawks in any way ever again. Carroll’s team will have a target on their back until one of the teams in the NFC West is able to blow them out. With the way QB Russell Wilson is playing right now, it may never happen again.
The Cardinals will put their best foot forward on Sunday, but their best foot can barely beat a college team. The 49ers will be angry. Losing 42-13 is not something they are okay with. It will take a miracle for the Cardinals to play a solid 60 minutes of football on both sides of the ball. Crazy things happen all the time in the NFL, just not when the Cardinals are on their fourth string quarterback with coach that more than likely will not have a job next year.
